“I wrote it so it would stay.”
The moon · The reed · The weighing
Thoth is the cool mind of the Egyptian cosmos: moon, measurement, the word that makes the world stay put. In the hall of Ma’at he writes the outcome of the weighing. He is also the mediator who heals Horus and Set enough for the cosmos to continue.
To live a Thoth day is to discover that language is not commentary on your life. It is one of the ways your life becomes real.

INTERPRETATION
Thoth arrives when it is time to tell the truth in a form that can be kept: a sentence, a ledger, a vow. Beware using recording as a substitute for living. The scribe is a servant of Ma’at, not a hiding place.
The shadow
The ledger used as a hiding place. Recording instead of living.
