“I stole the fire.”
A fennel. Heat that was not supposed to be yours.
Prometheus means forethought. He tricks Zeus at the sacrifice, then smuggles fire in a fennel stalk. Civilization begins: cookery, craft, the end of shivering. The sentence is a rock, a liver, an eagle, a forever. Heracles eventually breaks the chain, but the point was never the rescue. The point was that some gifts rearrange the moral universe, and the giver does not get to live as if they didn’t.
Fire is knowledge, techne, the capacity to make. It is also the thing that burns the giver.

INTERPRETATION
Prometheus arrives when you are carrying a gift the current order did not authorize. The liver is the daily cost of seeing too far ahead. The question is whether the fire was for them, for you, or for the future, and whether you confused martyrdom with meaning.
The shadow
The liver that keeps growing. The gift that will not admit it was also a theft.
