“I was delayed.”
Two messages. Death entered because the first arrived second.
Across many African nations a story is told: a slow messenger is sent with news that humans will not die, or will rise again like the moon. A faster animal runs ahead with the other word. Death enters the world because the first message arrived second.
The tellers change: San, many Bantu-speaking peoples, East Africa, the South. The animal changes: chameleon, lizard, hare. The pattern does not. A world can be decided by which word is early.
These are public stories, not one people’s secret. The engine offers the pattern, not a census of versions. The question is not which animal you are. The question is which message you are living as if it were the only one that arrived.

INTERPRETATION
The late messenger is the psyche’s knowledge that timing can be fate. A true word that arrives after a louder one. Grief that is actually a delayed consolation. The work is not to become the hare. The work is to notice which message you crowned because it was first.
The shadow
The first report crowned as law. A true word that arrived second.
